An adherent with heavy burden
Diallo, the only moonbard on Island Cerul, moved in the island because of former moonbard Teresia. She gave young Diallo light in his time straying outside the island. Diallo learned everything about "Way of the Moon" from her. After Teresia passed away, he made up his mind to become a moonbard.
Diallo has always been more mature than anyone, thanks to his early days. His days with Teresia is his precious. For Diallo, fulfilling her last wish is not only a favor in return. Taking on the last journey on earth is something way beyond.

Rebellious daughter of a sinner
Raye is the daughter of former moonbard Teresia. She has been frail since childhood and lives with her father Sile. Despite her mother being revered by the islanders, her father, a doctor, is considered a sinner for disparaging the island's sole faith "Way of the Moon". The strained relationship between Raye and her father persists, until he disappeared in Mt. Caelum.
For Raye, the fear of the apocalypse is not as real as her own fragile body. Beneath her quiet exterior, she harbors a strong yearning. She knows that only by resisting her own destiny can she truly "live".
The key to all of this lies in Diallo, whom she has considered a brother for long years.

A poet deprived his own vision
Zori is a native of Island Cerul, having deep bonds with Diallo over the years and being childhood friends with Raye. The older Diallo has imparted much knowledge about moon and hymns to him during his childhood.
Zori possesses sensitivity to both words and music and harbors a rational curiosity about the world before the Moonfall. In contrast to Raye's continual pursuit of the essence of the apocalypse, they share a sense of mutual understanding about each other's perception of the world, considering each other as kindred spirits.
Now, with a mix of conviction and confusion in his heart, he is about to assume the position of moonbard from Diallo.

A mentor bounded by passion of life
Teresia was a former moonbard on Island Cerul. She drifted to the island as a child and was raised by its inhabitants. Determined to find the origin of her life, she learned to become a moonbard from her predecessor and succeeded in praying on the sacred land of Baptisma Terra.
She was a cheerful girl who seemed unaffected by Moonfall, always finding the good in the world and lightening up everyone around her. But after conquering Baptisma Terra, she met someone and settled down. The presence of this person, and the people they met together changed her life.

Inspired by a variety of role-playing games with rich worldviews and expansive 3D environments, as well as beautiful adventure games, ARIE: Moonprayer attempts to create a sorrowful yet beautiful world, utilising the fantastical power of the protagonist's instrument, Diqin, to interact with a variety of environments, as well as a multilayered auditory and emotional experience, to tell the story of a unique fantasy journey.
